Companion Animals and Zoonoses – Webinar

Description

Companion animals play an important role in the lives of humans. However, interactions with animals can have human health implications if proper preventive measures are not taken. This talk aims to share information on some common infectious diseases, what pet owners can do, and to bust myths with regard to infectious disease prevention and control.

Speaker:

Dr Kelvin Lim is a veterinary graduate from Murdoch University, Australia, and pursued postgraduate studies in veterinary public health in The Ohio State University, USA. He is board certified with the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine. He is currently Director of Veterinary Health Management branch in National Parks Board, which coordinates animal disease biosurveillance programmes, risk assessments, contingency plans, and other animal population health programme matters.
