It’s not everyday that Cesar Millan, world-renowned dog behaviourist, or more affectionately known as the Dog Whisperer, comes to Singapore.
Hosted by Subaru, Cesar had an exclusive meet-and-greet with Subaru’s VIP guests and pet lovers at the Suntec City Roadshow on Saturday, May 28. Sharing the same love and passion as Cesar for animals, Subaru showcased their range of pet-friendly cars catered to the outdoor lifestyles of pet owners in Southeast Asia.
The atmosphere bubbled with anticipation for his arrival. As the crowd awaited, the emcee held a Question-and-Answer (Q&A) segment, where guests eagerly participated for a chance to score Cesar Millan-branded merchandise. These included DVDs, books, muzzles, light-up leashes and collars, dog bowls, training leads and more; some of which are sold in Subaru showrooms.
Cesar was met with resounding cheer from the crowd as he stepped on stage. Winners enjoyed an up-close and personal experience with him as he autographed their prizes and gave them out personally. They were also given a once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunity with him!
A fan of Subaru’s pet-friendly cars and owner of the Subaru Forester, Cesar also shared tips on how people can improve their interactions with dogs. As he gave away one of the prizes (a muzzle) he mentioned, “I want to make sure the muzzle has a collar and a figure. This one looks like a little dragon. Instead of the human focusing on the muzzle, he or she focuses on the collar and what it is. It redirects the human from being uncomfortable with a dog with a muzzle.”
He added, “When you see a dog with a muzzle, don’t feel bad or negative about it. Embrace that the human is being responsible. The human has already placed a muzzle and the dog is complying with what is being expected of it. So feel good about it – that humans are making progress!”
Much to the crowd’s delight, Cesar announced the on-going preparations for Cesar’s Recruit: Asia, a first-of-its-kind competition reality show, where he hopes to find his next apprentice within Asia.
As the event drew to a close, guests were treated to pastries and bread, courtesy of Asanoya Bakery. Truly the cherry on top of an exciting fan meet with the one & only, Cesar Millan.
