A Pet Owner’s Guide To Having A Clean Home

A Pet Owner’s Guide To Having A Clean Home

A Pet Owner’s Guide To Having A Clean Home

As pet owners, one will be familiar with a house full of fur and/or messes. Sure, we do adore our furballs but there are times when we wish they would stop leaving well, furballs around the house. Whether you’re tired of whipping out the lint roller or are a pet owner to-be, here’re five tips to ensure a spotless environment.

Ridding the fur

Depending on the breed of your pet, fur may be a huge issue in your house. A short-term solution will be to vacuum the house regularly, while wash towels are great for wet surfaces. On the other hand, minimise shedding by brushing your pet regularly. Also, do consider opting for breeds that don’t shed much – this includes breeds such as Pomeranian and the Poodle.

Conduct regular grooming sessions

Do bathe your pet at least once or twice a week, to ensure that it’s bacteria and odour free. While baths are beneficial, do bear in mind that daily baths can result in adverse effects, as baths will strip the pet of essential oils and increasing the risk of skin infections.

For an occasional treat, do feel free to engage in pet grooming services in Singapore, to pamper your pet with a professional treatment. Not only will a professional groomer your pet’s general appearance, they will help to keep a look out for potential signs of skin inflammations.

Keeping your pet’s living environment clean

Whether it’s your pet’s favorite scratching post or chew toy, do ensure that the toys are regularly cleaned or disinfected. Aside from giving them a good wash, do consider leaving them out in the sun, to rid the toys of all odour.

React fast to accidents

From the famous cat swipe to the over zealous dog, accidents are part and parcel of a pet owner’s life. Although it’s impossible to prevent pet-related disasters, prevent bad smells from sticking to a surface by cleaning up the damage in the fastest time possible. Better yet, opt for quality enzyme cleaners for spillages.

Keep the dirt where it belongs

You may be surprised, but a dog can bring back a surprisingly substantial amount of sand just from a short walk in the park. As such, it is advisable to at least give your pet’s paw a good wash before it makes a beeline for the bed.

While one may be tempted to turn to sprays or scented candles, we can safely say that nothing beats a clean and fresh smelling pet. Other than keeping the house spot-free, do implement the above tips to ensure your furry companion’s well-being.
