If you’ve been wondering how to make this coming Lunar New Year extra special for your four-legged family members, The Cathay has something paw-sitively exciting in store. The shopping mall is hosting its first-ever pet event, Fur Society, on 24 and 25 January 2026, and it’s shaping up to be quite the celebration.
The two-day event runs from 11 AM to 7 PM on both Saturday and Sunday. During this time, Level 4 of The Cathay will be decked out in full Chinese New Year splendour, complete with photo spots, activities, and a marketplace brimming with goodies for your furkids.
So, whether you’re a dog pawrent, cat lover, or proud owner of any other furry companion, there’s plenty to wag (or purr) about.

A Pet Marketplace Worth Sniffing Out
Local vendors will be setting up shop with a wide variety of pet essentials, treats, accessories, and all manner of pet-related merchandise. It’s the perfect chance to stock up on goodies before the new year rolls in, or maybe find that CNY outfit you’ve been eyeing for your furbaby’s annual photoshoot.
Pet Playground
Beyond shopping and workshops, Fur Society will also feature an outdoor Pet Playground at the garden area where your furkids can play, explore an obstacle course, and make new furry friends. No advance booking is required, so simply head over and let your pets have at it!
Do note: For everyone’s safety and comfort, pawrents must supervise their pets at all times. Dogs subject to Singapore’s muzzling regulations must be muzzled at all times within the Pet Playground and event premises.
Sure-Win Lucky Dip
Feeling lucky? Spend a minimum of $50 at the pet marketplace and you’ll get to try your paw at the Sure-Win Mystery Dip at the Clubpets lucky draw counter. Prizes include a Pet Hamper worth up to $300 and other paw-some goodies for your furkids. After all, fortune favours the bold (and their pets).
CNY-Themed Photo Spots & Complimentary Photo Prints
Get those Instagram-worthy shots of you and your furkid against beautifully decorated backdrops scattered throughout the event space. And here’s the cherry on top: spend at the pet marketplace and you’ll receive a complimentary photo print-out at the Chinese New Year themed photobooth. Because let’s be honest, no Chinese New Year is complete without commemorating it in photos.

Beyond the main festivities, Fur Society is offering a lineup of hands-on workshops for pawrents at the Activity Area near the Clubpets booth:
Lunar New Year Pet Photography Workshop with Nikki.Pompom
Saturday, 24 January | 1 PM to 2:30 PM
Say goodbye to generic “pet-with-couplets” New Year photos. In this workshop, Pomeranian Nikki and Momma will share how to turn Lunar New Year elements into elevated, story-led pet portraits that feel warm, natural, and timeless.
You’ll learn about colour storytelling using festive tones like red and gold, simple composition techniques for clean and balanced portraits, and how to capture natural moments with your pet. The workshop includes structured guidance, live demonstrations with Nikki, and small-group hands-on practice with personalised feedback.
Lunar New Year Necklace Crafting with Awoofi
Saturday, 24 January | 4 PM to 6 PM
Awoofi is hosting a necklace-crafting session where you can design and assemble a personalised accessory from their upcoming CNY-themed collection. Each piece draws inspiration from themes of prosperity, good fortune, and new beginnings.
The workshop fee is $39 per participant, which includes one necklace, two charms, and a name tag for your pet. Spaces are limited, and due to space constraints, only registered participants and their pets are allowed in the workshop area. No plus-ones, unfortunately, so you’ll have to leave the entourage at the main event.

CNY Paw Print Keepsake with The Little Sprout
Sunday, 25 January | 1 PM to 3 PM
If you’re looking for something a bit more sentimental, The Little Sprout is running a paw print keepsake workshop where you’ll create a beautifully decorated Chinese New Year-themed shadow box featuring your pet’s paw impressions. You’ll design your own display using festive elements, florals, and trinkets, making it a truly personalised memento to treasure.
At $48 per participant, all materials are provided, and you’ll also receive a Polaroid photo to take home. Same rules apply here: limited spaces and no plus-ones in the workshop area.

DIY Pet Lick Art Couplets Workshop
Sunday, 25 January | 4 PM to 6 PM
Move beyond traditional Lunar New Year pet photos and create something truly one of a kind with your furry friend. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to create playful lick art couplets using Lunar New Year-inspired elements, turning your pet’s natural instincts into a fun and creative keepsake for the festive season.
Stop The Timer Challenge & Quizzes
Saturday, 25 January | 6 PM to 7 PM
Sunday, 26 January | 12 PM to 1 PM, and 6 PM to 7 PM
Throughout the weekend, the Activity Area will also host the Stop The Timer Challenge, where you’ll need to stop the timer at exactly 00:02:17 to walk away with a prize. Think you’ve got the precision? Pop by during the slots above.
There’ll also be quizzes on Sunday from 3 PM to 3:30 PM for those who fancy testing their pet knowledge.
